His Royal Highness was welcomed by Gurkha village women with scarves and garlands on his five-day royal tour of Nepal. Prince Harry spent the night in the hills after being crowned the head of the village.
The villagers wound the pheta around Prince Harry's head, which signified his status as head man for the night.

The prince spent over an hour trekking to get to the village but didn't hesitate to join in on the festivities planned for his arrival.

He spent the night in Mangali Tamang's home. The 86-year-old is the widow of a former Gurkha rifleman. Prince Harry left his palace behind to experience the way people live in the Himalayan foothills.

"I'm very happy. I cried, 'when I die I can say I talked to the king of a foreign land,'" Tamang said. "I blessed him so that he may live to be 100 years and all his wishes become fulfilled, and where he goes success will follow him."
Prince Harry joined Tamang and her family for an evening meal, which was probably very different from what he's used to.

Earlier in the day, the prince was humble enough to travel by raft to Bardia National Park.

There, the animals also joined the villagers in welcoming the prince.

Prince Harry also had the chance to join in on the Hindu festival of Holi. He was smeared with powder and took it with a smile.

The prince didn't hesitate to kick off his shoes to have a game of volleyball with the village children either.

Prince Harry's trip did happen for a reason. The prince's tour celebrates the 200-year relationship between Britain and Nepal. The country is currently rebuilding after last year's earthquake, which took the lives of more than 8,000 people.
