Surj to continue the legacy of RDB, as Manj decides to leave.
The musical group, Rhythm Dhol Bass, more commonly known as RDB, is one of the largest groups to come out of the UK. After the passing away of Kuldeep Ral (Kuly), brother Manj Ral announced that he is leaving the group to focus on his own solo career. Surjeet Ral (Surj) confirms his intentions on continuing the legacy of RDB to honour his eldest brother, Kuly's memory. Compelled by his passion to produce music, Surj states that he has no desire to back down from the music scene.
Surj released a statement saying, “I was sad to see my brother leave RDB. Along with my late brother Kuly, he was one of the founders of the group. He will be missed, but I wish him all the best in his solo career.”
Kuly, known as the musical leader and Manj his musical foil, Surj's strong musical influence in the group has been one of the key successors in leading RDB to become one of UK's first musical hits to break into the Bollywood scene. Surj has also held the responsibility of handling the groups business affairs which saw RDB's musical careers boom in Bollywood, with hits such as 'Singh is King' featuring Snoop Dog and 'Aloo Chaat'.
It was Kuly's dream to expand the music of RDB to all the corners of the world and to entertain fans by creating an identifiable sound, uniquely known to RDB.
Surj is already working towards releasing a new album for the fans later on this year, titled 'Worldwide' with RDB's own record label 'Three Records'. He acknowledges that with the assistance of several members of the existing RDB team, he will bring their unique sound to the forefront of the group, and expand it to a wider audience.
Surj goes on to say… “I will strive to honour and preserve RDB’s music – and continue to present live performances to uphold the legacy of our brother Kuly Ral. Myself, and the team, would like to personally thank all our fans for listening, enjoying and dancing to our music since we started out. I’m not about to retire, I promise to keep the name RDB alive for you all. I would also like to respectfully thank my parents for their continuing support and personally thank all the music industry for the support in the name of Paaj.”
RDB’s latest Bollywood song titled ‘Tamache Pe disco’ from the film ‘Bullet Raja’ has made waves and Surj promises that there will definitely be more hits coming soon from the RDB quarters. We look forward to it!
