When one thinks of an Enchanted theme, words like fantasy, ethereal, candlelight, floating lights or crystals comes to mind.
Thanks to Sean Parker’s romantic enchanted theme wedding in California, many brides are looking to incorporate something similar into their own special South Asian wedding.
There are many ways to incorporate the enchanted theme into your wedding whether it by adding a bit of sparkle and shimmer into the decor, venue, food, lighting or even the bridal clothing.
You can also leverage Mother Nature by using rich greenery, lush foliage of branches and blossom to enhance the Enchanted theme to the next level.
I loved discovering what brides did to make their wedding as mystical and magical as they could.
1. Venue:
If your event is taking place outside, then all the more reason to take advantage of Mother Nature’s bounty. Remember you want to enhance, not overwhelm so use shimmering lights or sparkling crystals to dress up existing trees.
Explore using hanging lanterns or twinkling lights draped throughout trees branches. Create candlelit areas for a soft, romantic feel. Lighting is a great tool and spreading it out in hues of soft creams, gold, purples, and greens will tie the theme together beautifully.

2. Your Ceremony Decor:
Sheer and shimmering fabrics or an overflow of flowers on your mandap can will make it seem like your a princess gliding towards your throne. Chiffon, satin or any light material gathered together with accents of flowers tying them together creates that romantic enchanted look that you’re going for.
If you’re looking for a more floral enchanted look, don’t just get a few, talk to your decorator to get hundreds of flowers.
I learned that there were more then 5,000 freshly picked roses that were brought together to fill out the top of the dome of this mandap.

3. Table Decor:
One of the staple items I’ve seen when creating an Enchanted them is the use of branches. Big or small, branches add a lovely, nature feel to the decor.
When you can’t take your events outside to Mother Nature, why not bring it indoors?
Chat with your florist or decorater to see who to artfully incorporate them into your designs. When selecting your flowers, roses usually come to mind but consider exploring outside of just roses, take a peek at tulips, lisianthus, lilacs and tiger lilies.
Try high and low centerpieces and have the higher ones overflowing to create a canopy. Don’t feel intimated with cost, if budget is a factor remember your florist is your friend and can guide you to the flowers that are in season so that costs can be brought down.

4. Wedding Cake:
Wedding cakes are a symbolic tradition bringing good luck and well wishes to the happy couple by distributing to their guests. To tie in the entire Enchanted theme, use both fresh and sugar flowers on your wedding cake. Add ribbon looking embellishments and like your centerpieces, explore having a 3 tiered or 6 tiered cake depending on the type of enchanted theme you are having.

5. Your Wedding Dress:
As fashion trends evolve, South Asian brides are have been broardening their choices by looking to their western bridal counterparts to wear elegant, magical and romantic white dresses.
These dresses are the perfect touch to the enchanted wedding theme as the fabrics and bouquets come together seamlessly with an airy, fairytale feel.
