As the Spring season finally arrives, it brings with it a myriad of allergies that are sure to ruin plans. Here are some tips on dealing with these allergies:
Eat Healthy
Bad health choices when it comes to food can worsen asthma and allergies. Antioxidants found in vegetables, fruits nuts, green tea and seeds help fight inflammation and therefore help in controlling the severity of allergic reactions. Fish, flaxseed oil and eggs are high in omega-3, which also greatly helps.
Keep Your Air Fresh
Filters should be changed every three months, to remove pollen and mold from the air as effectively as possible.
Shower As Soon As You Get Inside
When you get home from a long day of breathing in the allergy-causing pollutants, change your clothes immediately, take a shower, and best if you wash your hair. This way the pollen doesn’t fall on your pillow during the night(that was caught in your hair).
Invest In A Neti Pot
The activity involves rinsing nasal cavity with a saline solution, it gets rid of allergens and mucus. Salt water is mixed into warm water, and the solution poured into one nostril and released from the other.
Pets
Pets can brings in allergens from outside. Wipe their fur with allergy wipes when come in.
Medication In Addition To Regular Antihistamines
An anti-allergy pill by itself may not be good enough. Combine it with a daily mineral or multivitamin supplement, with vitamin C, E and B. Herbal tea also greatly helps.
Lose Weight
Any excess fat on your body will make it harder for you to breathe, which is sure to worsen the allergy symptom if your lungs cannot fully expand.
