There are seven different world pavilions: Portuguese, Polish, Caribbean, Hispanic, South Asian, Filipino, Chinese and Italian.
The South Asian headliners for the weekend are as follows.
Yaadon Ki Baarat
Bandshell Stage on Saturday, June 28, at 6:00 pm. FREE ADMISSION
The South Asian headliner for day one will be Yaadon Ki Baarat. The group consists of four singers and professional musicians and dancers from the Bollywood film industry. They will put on a musical show that presents 100 years of Bollywood's musical journey, reimagining the music and hit songs of yesteryear singers, such as the late Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and many more.
The group of singers includes Rupali Ghogare, Srikant Narayan, Apurva Shah and Bhoomi Tirivedi, an Indian Idol and playback singer of the movie Ram Leela. This talented group of performers will be accompanied by a live band.
Gippy Grewal
Bandshell Stage on Sunday, June 29. FREE ADMISSION
The South Asian headliner for day two is Gippy Grewal. Grewal is a performer and singer born in Koom Kalan village near Ludhiana. He is ruling the charts of Punjabi music, after developing his successful music career by scoring a hit with his very first album, Chak Lai.
Grewal rose to fame after the release of his single 'Phulkari' that broke records in Punjab. In 2010, he made his acting debut in the film Mel Karade Rabba, and received 'PTC Best Actor Award' in 2011 for his performance in Jihne Mera Dil Luteya. In 2012, he received the "PIFAA Best Actor Award" along with Diljit Dosanjh.
Sharry Mann
Bandshell Stage, Sunday, June 29. FREE ADMISSION
The second headliner for day two is Sharry Mann, an artist best known for his singing, lyrics and stage performances. Born in Mohali, this singer/songwriter started performing at parties before he became a professional singer. In 2011, Sharry sang 'Kudiyan Te Bassan' for his friends who recorded him and put his video on YouTube.
The song quickly became a hit amongst Punjabi youth. Two years later, his friends posted another video of him singing the song 'Yaar Mallanga Nu' which became another success. In 2010, DJ Nick took his song 'Yaar Anmulle', mixed it, and posted it to YouTube, where it broke all the records of any Punjabi music video on YouTube in the Punjabi music industry.
Mann's first album was nominated for the PTC Punjabi Music Award in five categories, including Best Debut Male Singer, for which he won.
