SALSA
Fun and flirty, Salsa is a great way to break the ice or even a better way to find yourself quickly tangled up in each other’s arms. Salsa clubs are probably the easiest of all dance clubs to connect because being a wall flower just isn't an option. Guys note she's expecting to be spun around so make her heart beat faster and get an excuse to have your arms around her waist most of the evening.
FOXTROT
At weddings, impress everyone with your ballroom skills, not to mention your ability to dance the least awkwardly of all your friends and family. Usually paired with Big Band music, its perfect for the couple with classical style oozing elegance and sophistication. If you’re the type to pick a gown over a cocktail dress, a tuxedo over jeans, and forgo “shaking it” on the dance floor, than this is the dance for you.
SWING
Single step, West Coast, Blues, East Coast, Jitterbug, Lindy, Charleston…your choices are endless. For beginners, single step is recommended but if you’re all about speed, you’re probably a natural Jitterbug shaker. For Big Band music lovers and girls who love the 40’s victory roll curls, you’ll be wanting to learn Lindy. For more contemporary jams, try East Coast (Triple-step Swing) and you roadhouse lovers, give West Coast Swing a go.
ARGENTINE TANGO
From its rough origins in the streets of Buenos Ares to the fashionable dance houses of Paris, the Argentine tango is the dance for you if you’re looking for a way to build an intense connection with your partner. The footwork is a little more complicated than simply gripping a rose between your teeth and striding across the floor in dramatic display of passion. The learning curve is well worth it when you discover the heat that can ignite in these sensual steps, making it the perfect way to express unspoken desires.
