The Grand Hotel Toronto, makes for a great retreat offering luxury accommodations and excellent service.
Gearing up for the New Year, the hotel has been prepping for 'Winterlicious 2014' where guests can experience scumptuous lunches and dinners at great prices.
Wrought iron railings welcome you to Citrus Restaurant, where european ambiance greats you along with delicious cuisine and incredible service. The Citrus Lounge also offers a relaxing place for happy hour cocktails, afternoon tea or casual dining.
Executive Chef, Daniel Marchetti is the mastermind behind the menu that features freshest local ingredients and unique regional discoveries.
Winterlicious 2014 specials at the hotel are:
Lunch ( $20.00 ) Dinner ( $35.00 )
FIRST COURSE
Roasted fennel & parsnip soup – with toasted chestnut and granny smith reduction (Local)
Meatballs al forno – spicy passata, garlic epi & freshly grated parmesan (Local)
Cookstown organic greens – lemon rosemary vinaigrette, pine nut currant relish and shaved Piave (Local) (Vegetarian)
MAINS
Osso buco – Delft blue farms braised veal shank with crispy orange gremolata and hilopites (Local)
Ricotta Gnudi – roasted carrot Gnudi with heirloom carrot puree and port soaked raisins (Local) (Vegetarian)
Roasted chicken breast – with tomato white bean ragout, smoked chorizo and salsa verde (Local)
DESSERT
Warm poppyseed bread pudding – with lemon cured and fresh cream
(Vegetarian)
Cracked pepper ice cream – with balsamic sabayon, macerated berries and strawberry crisps (Vegetarian)
Chocolate Pavlova – whipped cream, sour cherry compote and toasted coconut
(Vegetarian)
Winterlicious 2014, which runs from January 31 to February 13 includes over 200 restaurants, an increase from last year’s 193. Reservations for the prix fixe festival don’t open until January 16, but eager foodies can sign up for wine tastings, gnocchi-rolling classes and other special Winterlicious events starting today.
