Hollywood's leading ladies are ditching the longer locks and opting for the uber chic pixie cut. Jennifer Lawrence revealed her chopped off hair as she appeared on a Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Global Google+ Hangout Q&A yesterday.
In the past week alone we have seen Kristin Chenoweth, who along with Pamela Anderson and Jennifer Hudson, has turned several heads just by sporting this highly experimental haircut. Not to mention Beyonce, who went for a pixie back in August.
Kristin Chenoweth’s inspiration for the new style, however, was getting in character for a new role. She told US Weekly, "I did it for a film, for a part, and also I thought for my life it would be a good change… We're always trying to make our look different for different parts we play and I've been having that long hair for a while and I gradually went shorter."

She also revealed Jenna Elfman and Charlize Theron as her inspiration for donning the hairdo. "I looked at Jenna Elfman's hair a lot and Charlize Theron's hair a lot…I kind of went in that direction".

No matter what the inspiration, the style has made it to the headlines several times in the past as a range of celebs – from Judi Dench to Miley Cyrus – have worn it at some point. Whether they have carried it successfully or not perhaps lies in the eyes of the beholder.
