Anushka Sharma is all set to be labeled Bollywood’s youngest producer as she gets ready to co-produce her upcoming film 'NH10' with Phantom.
An excited Anushka said, "I am thrilled to get a chance to do this so early on in my career. And I couldn't have found a better project than NH-10 to kick-start this new phase in my film journey. This is my second film after Bombay Velvet with Phantom.. its a blast working with them".
The 25-year-old actress has very high expectations for the film. According to her, "It is going to be super-exciting working together again on what promises to be an explosive film".
Before Anushka Sharma, Freida Pinto was expected to play the role of a lady detective in the film.
Pinto had signed the film last year, but decided to walk out when the dates of the film could not be finalized by the producers in time.
It is believed that Sonam Kapoor also declined the role before it was finally accepted by Anushka.
The film is directed by Navdeep Singh (of Manorama Six Feet Under fame) and is being shot around Delhi. It is expected to release on September 12th next year.
Anushka made her acting debut with Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Since then, she has achieved a lot in terms of audience popularity and critical acclaim, with films such as Badmaash Company, Band Baaja Baaraat, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola.
With NH10, Anushka becomes the latest in the league of Bollywood actors-turned-producers. The long list includes prominent names like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgan among others.
While some very successful actors have not fared so well as producers, hopefully Anushka Sharma’s new venture as a producer will only take her success as an actress to a whole new level.
