It's the 1st Toronto International Jewellery Festival (TIJF)! This dazzling celebration of contemporary jewellery and metal arts from around the world is happening throughout the month of May at locations across the city. Whether you want to see the latest in jewellery design or you're looking to shop for a stunning new piece, TIJF is the place to be for art aficionados and fashionistas alike. Come see for yourself what makes Toronto the hub of Canada's diverse jewellery sector- from mining to market.
Where It's At
TIJF is a spectacular showcase of jewellery exhibitions and events at more than 30 venues, including leading museums like the Gardiner Museum and the Design Exchange, Harbourfront Centre, galleries and boutiques of Queen Street West, and chic shops in Yorkville. See It
This is your chance to see the future of contemporary jewellery design from around the globe. Check out wearable art made of precious metals and gemstones, plus alternative approaches that use less common materials. For instance, A Little Bit of Clay on the Skin at the Gardiner Museum is an exhibition of cutting-edge jewellery made from ceramics, and Ferrous at 18Karat (www.18karat.ca/) is an exhibit of jewellery made from iron and steel. There's so much never-before-seen work coming to Toronto.

Harbourfront Centre Happening
Friday May 17, 5-11pm. Come out to the biggest public party of the festival! The Harbourfront Centre Happening launches over ten jewellery exhibitions including over 100 local and international designers. Exhibitions are in the York Quay Centre as well outdoor exhibits, the World Café food tents and dancing on the pier!
