Pla?nes is an upcoming 3-D 2013 American computer-animated disney adventure sports comedy film. Produced by Disney Toon studios and released by Walt Disney studios. The film is a spinoff of Pixar's Cars series and tells the story of Dusty Crophopper (Dane Cook) . Dusty has dreams of competing in the big leagues, also known as, high racing flying competition.
Dusty is an underdog – he was not built for flying and ironically he is afraid of heights! He receives guidance and is mentored by Skipper Riley (Stacy Keach). The villain (Roger Craig Smith) and Dusty's rival tests his courage and ability to persevere against all odds and emerge as an inspirational winner! Priyanka Chopra's character Ishani is the Pan-Asian plane from India.
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is now shaping her international career. Having recently released her new single 'Exotic' with Pitbull, the multi-talented actress will now be making her Hollywood debut in the upcoming 3D animated film, Planes. Priyanka Chopra has become the first Bollywood actress to branch out into the International music industry and has signed to Inter scope/Desi Hits Records in 2010. The film will be released at the end of August 9 in North America!

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Chopra speaks of her role in her Hollywood debut: “Walt Disney is my favourite filmmaker in the whole world. They came to me with Planes three years ago — even before I was signed to Inter scope — and I thought it was a really great idea. I loved Cars and I loved how they were going to extend that concept with Planes. My character, Ishani, is a Pan-Asian champion from India and the romantic interest of the main lead, Dusty (voiced by Dane Cook).
It's a really great part and I gave her a desi [Indian] flavor. For me it was important to do that because I see a lot of Indian characters on television and in films in the West and they usually have overexaggerated Indian accents. And it troubles me as an Indian who also spends time abroad, because that's not how we really talk. So while portraying the character, it didn't mean that I had to have an American accent, which I don't, but just talk the way we normally do in India. Giving an animation character life was a way of pushing boundaries for me as an actor.”
Priyanka tells Indiawest that she relates to her character, Ishani, saying that "She is like me. She has an amazing propeller and so do I. (Laughs). There is a really cute line in the movie where Ishani turns around and she walks away and Dusty looks at her and says, “Wow, look at her propeller.” That was me, that line was me. Ishani, she is this confident, tough chic who is amazing at what she does. She’s a champion plane from Asia. She’s in a race which is all boys and she’s confident about herself. She’s a lot like me: she’s spunky, she’s fun, she’s sexy."
Lastly she added, "I wanted Ishani to not be the stereotypical Indian that gets represented in a lot of Western movies and TV and speaks [with a heavy accent]. For me, that’s offensive. I wanted Ishani to be real, the way you and I speak, the way the youth in India today would speak."
