Fashion Apr 17, 2014

Women's bohemian fashion brand, Free People who were recently inspired by India, shot their April campaign in the motherland. The brand brought in actress Freida Pinto to be the face of the campaign by means of a short film titled ‘Rangeen.’ Set in Rajasthan, both Freida and model Tom Bull embark on a romantic journey through the streets of the city.

In the short, Freida’s character Maya is joined by her best friend who brings along her brother Tom on the trip. What you'll find is a fresh faced Freida donning a variety of boho-chic looks from Free People’s new Spring/Summer collection. The film later shows the two falling in love during the colourful festival of Holi.

Speaking to, Free People Art Director Lauren Cohan said, “Freida was fantastic and incredibly involved from beginning to end. We met after presenting her with the concept and allowed her as much creative freedom as she needed. She added her own point of view to the storyline and developed her character in the film.”

Freida who got her big break in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire has since been featured in many blockbusters such as the 2011 Immortals, featured on our very own ANOKHI Magazine twice, as well as bagging a beauty ambassador role with
L'ORÉAL PARIS and the ambassador for Plan Intl USA. Freida is also a noted as a fashionista in her own right spotted at many a fashion week, not to forget her racy music video for Bruno Mars’ Gorilla.
