The same U.S. production company that brought you A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2 and Monsters, Inc., will be introducing a new concept to the animation world.
Disney-Pixar's upcoming release Sanjay's Super Team will feature Hindu gods as superheroes. The inspiration came from long-time Pixar Animation Studios' artist Sanjay Patel who is also the film's director.
The short film brings Patel's personal story to life and chronically revolves around his childhood journey as an Indian growing up in America.

Raised in the 1980s as a first-generation Indian-American in San Bernardino, California, Patel was very fond of Western pop culture, which conflicted with his father's daily Hindu rituals and prayers. At the start of his career, he battled with his identity when it came to openly embracing his cultural background in his professional life.
Sanjay's Super Team revolves around the daydream of a young, Indian boy, who is bored with his father's religious meditation and is transported to a cosmic temple where he envisions Hindu Gods as superheroes.
From the moment the animation begins, it is evident that Sanjay's Super Team is a very unique and personalized film. The opening scene has Sanjay and his father sitting on opposite sides of a very quiet and boring living room, both focusing on their personal interests. While Sanjay is enjoying his cartoons on TV and playing with his action figure, his father quietly prays. Sanjay's father sees his son admiring his cartoon show and tries to gain his attention by ringing a bell, convincing him to join in on the prayer. Sanjay turns up the volume on the TV, amusingly ignoring his father, and continues to watch his show.

Here's a sneak peak glimpse at the film's opening scene. Let us know in the comments section if you will be going to watch it in theatres.
