Take Your Outfit From Work To Play With These Stylish Suggestions

When it's the middle of the work week, a date, or a night out with friends, it usually means bringing something to change into after work- or dashing home at the height of evening traffic for a quick wardrobe switch. Ladies why not opt to freshen up your makeup and skip the cocktail dress. Be ready to go in just a few minutes with these great tips.

Tops

This is the most flexible part of the outfit. If your bottom is work-appropriate, you can have a bit more fun with a top that says a lot without revealing everything about you, and I mean physically. You can hide an asymmetrical neckline, sleeveless, or sheer look with a jacket. Skip the boring button-up, or safe, solid blouse, and have fun mixing and matching your styles, colours, and prints for a new look.

Bottoms

Some girls feel confident baring their pins, while others prefer leggings, or sexy slacks. Skip the leggings and jeans. Instead of the traditional lined pencil suit skirt, try something a little different, like a fun, pleated number, or a pair of dress pants with a more unconventional cut.

Jackets

We ladies are notorious for being too cold, too hot, or really just too good-looking. Remember, a blazer is more flexible than a sweater, both inside the office and out. They are also a great way to tone down an outfit that might be a little too risqué, or sharpen up a look that might otherwise seem casual.

Shoes

While most can appreciate a good pair of stilettoes, sometimes the mere thought of high heels is enough to make any girl skip out on a night of fun. But, let’s face it: your work-safe ballet flats just won’t do. Jazz up an outfit with creative sandals or chunky heels instead. Cold out? Try some cute boots. Even vintage peep-toe wedges can work wonders. There is more than one way to get you a confident, sexy feeling , and it definitely shouldn’t take an extra three inches (we’re still talking about shoes here) to make you feel fabulous.

Accessories

If you’re the average dame, your work bag and your evening-out clutch are not one in the same. Also, neither will work in this situation. Compromise by leaving the bulky stuff in the car, or office overnight, and switch over your neccessities to a stylish medium cross-body or shoulder bag. This will free your hands up for more important things like holding your drink, or taking down a cute guy’s number.

Regarding jewelry, instead of matching gemstone colors to your outfit, choose interesting, and original, pieces. The compliments you’re bound to receive can be great conversation starters.

Tips for Ladies: Keep a small makeup bag at work with duplicates of your basic cosmetics to transition your look from daytime to playtime. Especially if you’re required to wear a uniform, keep a change of fun sandals or heels, maybe a more risqué top and neat pair of form-fitting black slacks or iron-free skirt at work that can all match multiple outfits. Channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw for a combination of sassy and classy.
