The Fairmont Royal York Celebrates TWIFF2 In 1920’s Glory

It was a glam TWIFF2 hosted by the Fairmont Royal York Hotel featuring a fun-filled 1920s theme.

Cocktails and prizes free flowed with music by special guest DJ, Miss Tara creating the perfect ambiance.The event took place at the historic venue of the Imperial Room at the Royal York, hosting the creme de la creme of Toronto, including our very own ANOKHI MEDIA team. The Imperial Room, first opened to the public back in 1929, hosting artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Bob Hope, hence the night's theme.

Guests came dressed in feather boa's, lace gloves, gold sequins and pearls, all reminiscent of the era's glamour.
To every fashionistas delight, Artemis Jewellery and gowns by L'Momo were showcased on the orange carpet.

We caught up with Sonya Singh, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Fairmont Royal York who stated, "One of the reasons that we're having Twiff2 is because of all of our very great sponsors including Eric Salvan. The thing is we're looking for people to bring a younger demographic to the Fairmont Royal York. We teamed up with Twitter Canada this year and we wanted to make sure that we were on top of social media, and we were the number one trending topic; Twiff was last year."

To add to the fun filled night bite sized hamburgers and popsicle chicken drummettes were served while DJ Miss Tara played the latest hits while sporting glam gold headphones.

Canadian entertainment news show, Etalk Canada were present, covering the extravaganza while guests sipped on Ciroc and specialty cocktails inspired by famous Hollywood flicks including 'The Shining', 'Casablanca', 'Unforgiven', 'Ocean's Eleven' not forgetting the special 'Etalk Cocktail'.

Note to all Hollywood buffs, the Fairmont Royal York hotel has been featured in almost twenty Hollywood movies such as Oscar-winning 'Killing Fields', and Oscar-nominated 'Cinderella Man'. The hotel was also the official hotel sponsor for the Bollywood IIFA Awards back in 2011.
