Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are currently the It couple of Bollywood, and they're busy promoting their brand new film, Shaandaar, which releases on October 22, 2015.

The amazing chemistry between the two actors in the film has gotten people talking — although the film hasn't even released yet. One song that amplifies this appeal is "Nazdeekiyan." The song was composed by Amit Trivedi and Amitabh Bhattacharya. It's sung beautifully by Nikhil Paul George and Neeti Mohan. Shahid and Alia are dressed in black and white for the song, and an old-school ballroom theme sets the scene.

Since we're so excited for the film, we decided to make a list of 10 things you might not know about Shahid and Alia.

1. While shooting the dance sequence for the song "Shaam Shaandaar," Alia actually burst into tears. She found it overwhelming and wanted to make sure she got it right. Dancing next to superstar Kapoor with his slick moves can be quite daunting at times.

2. Shahid's first career choice was not to be an actor but actually to be a dancer. He was a trainer at Shiamak Davar's academy and also appeared in the song "Kahin Aag Lage" as part of a dance troupe in the film Taal.

3. Alia spent most of her life with her mother. She's closer to her mom since she didn't talk to her father, Mahesh Bhatt, much. However, she does admire him, and she feels she inherited her power from him.

4. While shooting for the film Ishq Vishq, Shahid had a traumatic experience. He turned to find a horse's head extremely close to his posterior. Shahid ended up jumping over a fence and running as far away as he could.

5. When she's not romancing actors onscreen, Alia loves to paint — and especially to use charcoal. She also loves catching up on sleep, something she doesn't get to do very often.

6. Anyone who thought that Kareena Kapoor was Shahid Kapoor's first love was very wrong, in fact, Shahid's first love was Harshita Bhatt, who started dating him when they first met on the set of Aryan's music video "Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chera."

7. Alia is a foodie! She loves eating french fries and drinking cold beverages. However, when she was shortlisted for Karan Johar's Student of the Year, Karan asked her to shed some weight for her role.

8. Shah Rukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor may have a smashing rapport now, but back in the day, SRK visited Shiamak's dance academy and, on seeing Shahid — who was skinny and lanky at the time — he asked Shiamak if he had stopped feeding his dancers. Shahid has admitted this pushed him to buff up and work on his body.

9. Most people believe that Alia Bhatt made her Bollywood debut in 2012, but this is actually not the case. Alia was first seen as a child actor in the 1999 Preity Zinta and Akshay Kumar film Sangharsh.

10. Shahid actually comes from a film background. His father is the renowned actor Pankaj Kapur and his stepmother is Supriya Pathak. Shahid also happens to be the stepnephew of star actor Naseeruddin Shah. Shahid's great-great-grandfather is acclaimed film director, screenwriter, novelist and journalist K.A. Abbas.
