Months after stepping proudly into the world and onto the red carpet, Caitlyn Jenner could step into a jail cell for charges of manslaughter in a fatal car crash.
The world, for the most part, has tuned in to Caitlyn Jenner's experience stepping out as a new woman. From her popular E! Network docu-series I Am Cait to her red carpet appearance and acceptance speech at the ESPYS, Caitlyn was on a high! Now, she could be facing a manslaughter charge after investigators determined she was driving unsafely and caused a chain-reaction crash that killed a woman in February this year, officials said on Thursday.

Investigators determined that Jenner, who had not started her transition at the time, was driving at a speed "unsafe for the prevailing road conditions." Plus, "Sheriff's officials do not make official recommendations on charges. However, the investigation found enough evidence to support a vehicular manslaughter count," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said.
Jenner was hauling an off-road vehicle on a trailer behind her Cadillac Escalade on February 7 when she steered to avoid cars slowing for a traffic light in front of her on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

Jenner was unable to stop in time and her SUV rear-ended two cars, pushing a Lexus into oncoming traffic and also hitting a Toyota Prius. The Lexus driver, 69-year-old Kim Howe, was killed when her car was struck head-on by a Hummer.
Investigators will present their findings to the district attorney's office by the end of August and that office will determine what, if any, charges Jenner will face.
