As Pakistan and India played against each other at the World Twenty20 this Saturday, social media kicked off into a frenzy again!
The match was one of the most-watched matches in cricket, owing to the rivalry between the two countries. "This rivalry is huge, it's very hard to put a finger and tell you how huge. It's probably bigger than the Ashes," said India's off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
This time, though, there was a twist!
Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, reveals it in his post: "Fans around the world are going to facebook.com/profilepicframes and using a profile frame to show support to their favourite teams. But fans from India and Pakistan are doing something different. Hundreds of thousands of Indian cricket fans are putting the Pakistani frame around their picture. And Pakistani fans are doing the same thing — showing support for India. They're using the hashtag #ProfilesForPeace."
The trend was started last year by Mumbai artist Ram Subramanian after a right-wing Hindu group forced the cancellation of a Pakistani singer's concert in India.
The trend re-emerged after Afridi was criticized for stating that the Pakistani team receives more love in India than at home.
Solidarity from fans in both countries is a positive symbol. In the past, fans have often indulged in name calling in a spirit of ostentatious patriotism.
The match took place in Kolkata. Pakistan was taken to a total of 118 by Malik and Akmal. Kohli's 55, followed by Dhoni's runs, brought a victory for the team.

India beat Pakistan by six wickets.
Man of the match Virat Kohli commented, "It was a challenging wicket but you need that as a cricketer. It was about keeping calm and luckily I had great partnership with Yuvraj and we pulled the team out of trouble."
