Culture & Lifestyle Mar 15, 2016
The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) organized a huge flash mob with stars Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Sonakshi Sinha in collaboration with Madrid’s City Hall.
The flash mob celebrated and promoted not only Indian Cinema in Spain but also the friendship between India and Spain and the upcoming IIFA Awards that will take place in Madrid.

Three Bollywood stars — Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Sonakshi Sinha — have been soaking in the city's vibrant colours and active energy.
Anil Kapoor shared his experience of roaming the Madrid streets on his Twitter with colourful pictures.

Roshan posted several images to his Twitter and shared his excitement while promoting IIFA and Bollywood. In one of the images, Roshan takes a selfie with the crowd, and you can see the excitement about the upcoming four-day IIFA event.
Something about d Iifa awards..d people d places, d crew, d warmth. Love it. Everytime a special experience. #madrid pic.twitter.com/D2PXJ7LmHG

The stars led a flash mob featuring 45 professional dancers and a huge crowd of fans at Madrid’s Paseo Del Prado. The crowd was encouraged to join the stars and the dancers.
The main street was closed off from car traffic for screaming and enthusiastic Bollywood fans. The crowd was excited, holding up homemade posters for the stars.
The City of Madrid even arranged some beefed-up security to protect the Bollywood legends.
This is the fourth time the IIFA Awards are taking place in Europe. The first three times were in Yorkshire, London and Amsterdam. Around 800 million people will watch IIFA on TV, and some 15,000 tourists will come to witness the gala in person, bringing in an investment of 15 million euros to Spain.
Bollywood is the world’s fastest-growing and most prolific film industry. It produces, on average, over a thousand films a year. In recent years, Spain has become one of Bollywood’s favourite shooting destinations for its best flicks.
The Mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, honoured the Bollywood trio. Anil Kapoor took to Twitter to thank the mayor, the city, and the people of the city for such an honour.
Humbled to receive this honour from the illustrious Mayor of #Madrid #ManuelaCarmena! Spain has been so good to me. pic.twitter.com/YvRHu4Tdhb

Just a few more months until IIFA 2016 takes place in Spain! The event promises to be quite the experience, combining the vibrancy of Indian cinema with the liveliness Spain has to offer.
