Priyanka Chopra Makes It To Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People List
Culture & Lifestyle Apr 22, 2016
The Bollywood actress turned global superstar wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She started her career like any other ordinary girl who wanted to make a name for herself in the outside world.
What truly makes Priyanka distinct from most people are her undying commitment to her work and her humbleness.
Dwayne Johnson describes his Baywatch co-actor as a ‘’massive star’’ who’s not only ‘’beautiful & talented’’ but also a ‘‘hard worker" — and we couldn’t agree more.
She's proven to be one of the few Bollywood actresses who have achieved commendable success on an international level.

Priyanka Chopra is breaking convention by increasing her neverending list of accolades. Time Magazine just added the South Asian stunner to their list of the 100 Most Influential People, and we're not surprised.
The actress shared the exciting news in a tweet with her 13.7 million followers. She expressed her gratitude for inclusion in the honourable list.

The multi-talented Chopra started her career back in 2000, when she participated in the Femina Miss India contest. She finished second and won the Femina Miss India title.
This win proved to be a huge self-confidence boost for the then-awkward 17-year-old, who had suffered from racist bullying in the past.
Chopra then went on to participate in the Miss World beauty pageant, where she was crowned as Miss World 2000 at the tender age of 18.

This win helped her drill a hole into the acting world, an opportunity which Chopra clearly did not take for granted. She went on to star in more than 50 movies, out of which only a few failed to perform commercially.
The turning point in her acting career was her hit crime series, Quantico, in which she plays a badass FBI recruit who becomes a prime suspect in one of the biggest terrorist attacks in the United States since 9/11.

This makes Chopra the first South Asian actress to be the lead star in an international television series and a favourite among its audience.
She was recognized at this year’s People Choice Awards when Chopra walked away with the award for Favourite Actress in a New TV Series for Quantico, which also makes her the first South Asian to win the award.

As if the acting weren't enough, Chopra had to try her luck in the music industry too and wasn’t bad at it. Her debut single, "In My City,’’ featuring renowned rapper will.i.am, was certified triple-platinum and even earned a TV spot for the NFL Network's Thursday Night Football.

She has her own organization, called The Priyanka Chopra Foundation For Health & Education, which benefits underprivileged girls through healthcare and education. She’s also one of the few celebrities who passionately advocate for women's rights and gender equality.
It's safe to say Priyanka Chopra is no ordinary woman. From global style icon and brilliant actress to humanitarian and feminist, she continues to break stereotypes and inspire girls around the world.
