Great news for Sanjay Dutt's fans! After completing his five-year sentence, Dutt was released from jail this Thursday, February 25.
Dutt was imprisoned for possessing illegal weapons linked to the 1993 Mumbai blasts.
He was released eight months prior to the end of his term on account of his good behaviour.
Upon exiting Yerawada Jail in Pune, he kissed the ground and saluted the national flag. Watch the full release video below.
Dutt met with wife Manyata and their two kids. He called his wife his "best half" and a "pillar of strength."
An emotional Manyata stated, "I need some space and some time to come back to tone that he is back home."

Soon after his release, he took a flight to Mumbai to offer prayers at Siddhivinayak Temple and visit his mother's grave.
Upon reaching home, he walked to his late father, Sunil Dutt's, portrait to seek blessings.
Later, outside his residence, he stated to the media, "For 23 years, I wanted to taste freedom, and finally the day has that I have. I walked out of jail as a free man, but it's not sinking in me. I know I will come to terms with it… It still feels like I am out on a furlough and parole."
A nostalgic Dutt remembered his father in moving words. "If my father was alive, he would have been the most happy person. His only fight was to see his son free. And today I can say, 'Baba I am free now."

While some critics bash the actor, he received a warm welcome from the Bollywood fraternity. Juhi Chawla, Rishi Kapoor, Mahesh Bhatt and Subhash Ghai are some of the many stars who took to Twitter to express their joy.
Actor Salman Khan announced plans to throw a lavish party to celebrate the occasion. His daughter posted a music video from his film Khalnayak on Instagram.
A proud sister, Priya Dutt remarked, "It was like a sword hanging on his head and he faced it like a man."
