Sri Srinivasan Makes History As The First South Asian American To Serve As A Circuit Court Judge

Congrats to 46 year old Srikanth “Sri” Srinivasan who was confirmed by the US senate to be a judge on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in a unanimous 97 to 0 vote according to IANS.
President Barack Obama said "Sri is a trailblazer who personifies the best of America."
Born in Chandigarh, India, Sri’s family immigrated to the US before his 5th birthday. He grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and later gained his BA honours with distinction from Stanford University in 1989. In 1995 Sri went on to receive his JD with distinction from Stanford Law School.
Sri’s accolades go on to accumulate awards, in particular the Attorney General's Award for Excellence in Furthering US National Security which he was given in 2003 as well as the Office of the Secretary of Defence Award for Excellence in 2005.
With this new judge seating on the Columbia circuit Sri makes history as the first South Asian American to serve as a circuit court judge which also leads him into a favourable nod for Supreme Court if a vacancy were to pop up in the next few years. According to ABC News Radio, ‘there are no signs of an imminent vacancy on the Supreme Court.’
