ANOKHI12 Style Spotlight: Raj Girn

ANOKHI MEDIA's CEO, Raj Girn's, Three Looks During ANOKHI12

The biggest night for any CEO is their company's anniversary, and for Raj Girn, this past weekend was just that. She celebrated 12 years in the business while honouring prominent South Asians from the global community in a weekend-long extravaganza that ended with the grand finale — the ANOKHI12 gala and awards show.

Raj, known for her flamboyant style, was seen in three distinct looks during the weekend. Here they are.

Welcome Soirée

For this event held at the Upper Canada Room of the historic Fairmont Royal York (the official hotel for ANOKHI12), Raj chose a metallic black and silver floor-length sequinned L'momo gown that featured a deep-v neckline offset by long sleeves, creating an elegant evening look.

Raj's signature coloured hair saw a change from the usual red to a pinkish plum. Beauty pro Kavita Suri played up Raj's hair with loose waves that were framed away from her face. She matched her hair tone with a similar lip shade to complete the va-va-voom look.

ANOKHI12 Red Carpet Look

Raj hit the red carpet in a shimmering floor-length gown by designer Dinesh Ramsay that embodied all that is Hollywood glam with some Bollywood pizazz thrown in. The jewel-encrusted spaghetti straps matched her v-shaped necklace that draped down her back, adding some drama. The silver-sequinned gown featured a high-waisted decorative strap that gave an empire waist effect, while the body of the skirt fit her hips snuggly and flowed beyond her feet, creating a glittery pool on the red carpet.

Raj's beauty look was created by L'Oréal make-up guru Eddie Malter, who gave Raj a flawless glow while hair pro Eric Del Monaco produced a concept look for to match the "go big or go home" motto. Eddie placed extensions to create the height and cascading curls.

Industry After-Party

During the exclusive invite-only Industry after-party, Raj changed her outfit and opted for one of her fave colours, turquoise. The metallic peacock hue was the perfect complement to her olive skin tone and a refreshing change from the silver-shimmer neutral she wore during the awards. L'momo custom-fitted the gown and created a plunging neckline to balance out the long sleeves and heavy floor-length voluminous skirt, which featured a chic slit.
