Move over, Priyanka Chopra! B-town's Nimrat Kaur gears up to stake her claim on US territory.
Bollywood actress Nimrat Kaur is the latest Indian star to join Tinseltown's celebs, making an impression on US television.
With Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone gearing up to stake a claim on Hollywood film territory, Nimrat Kaur is also making sure she gets noticed.
The actress signed for a role in the second season of the M. Night Shyamalan-produced Wayward Pines. This will be her first appearance on American television since her role as a Pakistani intelligence officer on Showtime's Homeland, starring Claire Danes. Wayward Pines is a spooky TV show starring Matt Dillon and Melissa Leo. The show enjoys a niche audience and has earned a fair amount of critical acclaim.

Kaur takes on the role of a successful architect and the main female lead in Fox’s sci-fi television series.
“I took an instant liking to the way the first episode read. I had an idea about the show but it was a genre that I had never attempted before," says Kaur.
"I am playing the part of a girl called Rebecca Yedlin who's an architect and it's very mysterious and you know like cards that unfold episode after episode and towards end of the season you realise who really she is and what her role is in the world they live in," continues the actress.

Set in an eerie town full of mysterious people, Wayward Pines can best be described as a cross between a utopian nightmare and a dystopian fantasy with strong elements of science-fiction expertly weaved in. It imagines a seemingly idyllic town with just one major flaw — that you can't leave, nor can you ask any questions about how it functions.
Alongside Priyanka Chopra in Quantico, Nimrat is another Indian actress who has shone with her performance on an American TV show.

Speaking of her success, Kaur says, “It’s a fabulous time for actors working in Bollywood. There is a deep pit of talent here. We have so much to offer, and now people are realising it at a global level. It’s incredible that actors are taking the risk and getting out of the Bollywood circle now.”
