At-home beauty tips to keep your skin picture perfect and acne free!
Acne, commonly known as zits are common skin diseases that can be a result of stress and an unhealthy diet. Rachelle Wood, a registered dietician tells The Huffington Post Canada, "Hormonal changes within the body have the greatest impact on acne formation. High stress lifestyles can promote acne production, so stay calm and relaxed to avoid breakouts.”
One can argue that it is no coincidence that zits usually occur during the days when we are feeling the most overwhelmed. Dermatologists suggest that eating habits, lack of sleep, and not washing our faces can also lead to prolonged skin issues.
The most common affected areas tend to be the forehead, nose, chin, back, chest, and finally, the butt. Here are some ways to control and avoid skin problems.
Use A Noncomedogenic Moisturizer ??
After properly washing your face, it is recommended that you use a noncomedogenic moisturizer. Sometimes, we mistakenly use oily moisturizers that can clog pores. But, noncomedogenic means prevention of clogged pores. When choosing the right product, choose a product that suits your skin type. If your skin is oily, then choose a lighter, gel-based product. Dry skin? Use a cream-based moisturizer.
Drink A Lot Of Water And Green Tea ??
According to WebMD, you should drink a lot of water- it flushes out toxins while hydrating the skin. Nancy Hearn, of Water Benefits Health, suggests drinking half your body weight in ounces daily.
Set a goal, over a course of six months, to consume the recommended amount: your body will rid itself of waste materials faster, and fight toxic substances inhabiting the body.
Green tea is another healthy, acne-fighting beverage filled with anti-oxidants such as EGCG components. According to Daily Health Post, green tea has three major benefits when it comes to fighting acne: sebum prevention, anti-inflammatory, and prevents the colonization of P. Acnes bacteria. ??
Use Exfoliating Treatments And Face Masks Once A Week
?
Face masks and skin exfoliates are beneficial for the skin- if sparingly used. The exfoliates work to remove dead skin cells. If used too regularly, they can have a negative side effect, irritating your skin and causing pimples. Face masks can work to cleanse impurities and calm the skin, too. Use natural products, such as yogurt, turmeric, honey, and other natural ingredients. You can now prevent acne and control skin breakouts!
