The Romantic Hit List
Number 10: Kiran Dhanoa and Rishi Rich, "Tere Bina Nahin"
We know that a track produced by Rishi will always be a good track. We're not used to hearing vocals by women in the bhangra and urban Asian industry. They're few and far between. But Kiran Dhanoa puts her vocals to "Tere Bina Nahin" and did it very well.
Number 9: Bilal Saeed, "Adhi Adhi Raat"
In 2011, Bilal Saeed stunned the industry with his beautiful vocals and he teamed up with the legend Dr. Zeus to bring a full album called Twelve, which of course consisted of 12 tracks. Although a number of tracks from the album stood out, the one that really made an impact was "Adhi Adhi Raat" with its striking lyrics.
Number 8: Roach Killa, "Hey Luv" Given his macho looks and crazy accent, you would never believe Roach Killa could pull off a romantic track. But "Hey Luv" just proves that anything is possible. Teaming up with Vee on production and shooting a fantastic video to accompany the track, Roach Kill created a romantic medley that depicts the way every man should feel.
Number 7: Raxstar featuring KEE, "Jaaneman"
Although written five to six years previously, this track was held onto until the right time. After teaming up with KEE for the chorus, Raxstar finally dropped "Jaaneman" on Valentine's Day 2011.
Number 6: Jay Sean, "Stolen"
Using the same backing track as Bally Sagoo ("Yadon Ki Baraat," "Chura Liya"), Jay put his own twist on the track and brought us "Stolen." About a girl that stole his heart, this track may actually be more aimed at those who are alone this Valentine's.
Number 5: Jaz Dhami, "Sadi Jind Jaan"
One of Jaz Dhami’s first singles was "Sadi Jind Jaan," featured on Aman Hayer’s Groundshaker 2 album. Since he worked with one of the best producers in the industry, it was obvious this track was going to do well. It complements the beautiful vocals of Jaz, who has now become a known name in the bhangra industry.
Number 4: Jinx, "Gal Sun"
Another classic track, this is one of the few songs that, as soon as someone hears the first few chords, makes them know exactly what song this is.
Number 3: Navin Kundra, "Tere Liye"
It would be wrong to have a list of love songs and not include the famous "Tere Liye." One of the biggest, soppiest love songs ever written in the urban Asian world and one that pulls on the heart strings of women of all ages, the track actually makes you feel like Navin is singing the track only tere liye.
Number 2: Bally Sagoo, "Chura Liya"
When released, this track was a massive contender to its Bollywood counterpart. It was played at every party's dance floor.
Number 1: Massari, "Real Love"
Massari is not only known all over the world but also made a huge impact on the Asian market, being a Lebanese-Canadian R&B and pop singer. Again, this is a song that the masses will recognize and it hits the top of our Valentine's list.
