Shreyas is a boutique hotel, with a maximum of 25 guests at any time. The philosophy that the retreat stands by is “Athithi devo bhava”, meaning, “A guest is to be served as God.” Shreyas delivers a personalized touch to their environment, ensuring that guests are well looked after. Spirituality is prevalent throughout the retreat, as even when food is being prepared, prayers and chants are heard. You’ll find serenity meditating in the sprawling 25 acres of organic gardens, water and landscaped greenery.
Shreyas merges modern and traditional design, with its architecture encompassing antique doorways, stone pillars and tiled roofs.
Wake up to sound meditation every morning with experienced instructors. Yoga is offered twice daily with classes in Ashtanga and traditional Hatha style. Classes cater to all levels. There are also workshops on Pranayama (breath work), community service and meditation.
Pamper yourself at the rejuvenation spa with Ayurveda therapies or one of the many types of massages. The Thalapothichil Ayurvedic Treatment is a specialty where the head is covered with a medicated paste that is prepared in buttermilk. Your head is then covered with a banana leaf. This treatment helps those who suffer from stress, anxiety, chronic headache and sleep disorders.
The spa also offers beauty treatments such as a Javanese Lulur Scrub that is a traditional golden-coloured scrub originating from Java that contains a combination of freshly ground turmeric, rice and sandalwood.
