Looking for love in all the wrong places or can't seem to find it? We have some suggestions for you.
Whether you're newly single, or jaded with the online dating scene, it can be hard to figure out where to meet real people looking for a relationship. We chatted with Natacha Noel, the founder of the Absolute Bachelor Club, a boutique matchmaking agency for professionals and public figures, to get her advice. As a certified matchmaker and a headhunter for love, Noel has matched hundreds of couples. Here's her advice for some of the questions that she gets asked the most.
Where Are The Best Places To Meet Other Single People?
To meet your soul mate, you have to be in places where you are open and relaxed, so I recommend places where it's stress-free for both men and women. Places like grocery stores, dog parks, gyms and surprisingly even the airport are perfect, because people are also more open to conversation. It's also important during your single life that you let others know that you are actively looking so you have more eyes out there for you.
How Do You Flirt And Let Someone Know You're Interested?
You have to have a conversation starter so the opposite party can connect with you somehow. Remember flirting is not about making sexual contact; it's about making a connection with an individual. So, complement their clothes, shoes or pet and go from there. I always tell women to approach guys with a question and smile and stare to show interest, as guys need the “green light” to make a move. And to the male readers, I have to say it is critical to accept that rejection is part of the game. Once you accept this, then dating can be more enjoyable and successful moving forward.
How Do You Know If Someone Is Serious?
If a guy is flirting way too much and sexting then he is not looking for a serious relationship. If you have been on a few dates or chosen to date each other and you're wondering about whether he or she is serious, then start asking questions that get you closer to the answer. For example you can invite your date to a family barbeque and ask to meet there in order to see what the response is. Also ask yourself that question as well: how would you know someone is serious in your life? You may find that the only way a relationship is serious in your eyes is if the new potential partner meets your parents or your close friends.
What Advice Do You Have For Our South Asian Readers As They Explore The World Of Dating?
I would tell them what I tell those of any ethnic background. It is really important to be open-minded and connect to an individual’s spirit first. No one is going to judge you for your choices. Your absolute match, no pun intended, can come in any size, shape, colour or community. So, broaden your pool of matches and increase your chances of finding real love and connection.
