#ThisIsMyGlamour18 – A Day of Glamour & Inspiration

The ANOKHI Prestige Experience (T.A.P.E)’s #ThisIsMyGlamour18 event took place on Sunday, May 6th to a packed house of a great mix of industry professionals, who enjoyed a day of fun networking along with inspirational chats, panel discussions, and delicious lunch and snacks throughout the day.

The lovely spring weather acted as the cherry on top of the spectacular panoramic city and lake views of Toronto at the Globe and Mail Centre, as the guests took snacks and beverages out onto the terrace to enjoy the sun. DJ Fizza kept the guests entertained with her beats, as they sampled scrumptious samosas and milk cakes at the Brar Desserts booth, along with a wide variety of delicious mocktails by Rubicon Exotic. Sherni’s Sauces’ sampling bar had the guests returning for more.

The Toronto Fashion Academy and Pretty Woman Cosmetics hosted a glam bar and gave some guests wonderful hair and make-up touch-ups for their photo ops at the ANOKHI media wall, as well as the photobooth on site by XOXO Booth.

The program started with ANOKHI MEDIA’s CEO Raj Girn hosting an exclusive and candid celebrity fireside chat with actress and author, Sheetal Sheth (brought to you by Bharat Babies), who discussed her inspiration behind writing the book Always Anjali, and answered audience questions regarding her experience as an Indian actor in Hollywood.

Dr. Renu Persaud delivered an inspirational spotlight talk with a reading of her book, The Mastery Of You, to great applause.

A fun and interactive presentation was next on the agenda by the ANOKHI Magazine team, titled “What’s Hot This Season?” Pt. 1, hosted by Editor-In-Chief Hina P. Ansari and presented by ANOKHI’s resident fashion expert, Tessa Johnson. The ladies discussed their favourite Western and Indian designers and trends of the season, and how we can incorporate them into our daily wardrobe.

A mouth-watering lunch along with Rubicon’s mocktails against the backdrop of the Toronto skyline proved to be a great break.

With her fun and quirky presence, CP24’s Pooja Handa hosted the panel “The Business of Glamour” featuring style influencer The Sandy Lion, beauty influencer Hemali Mistry, fashion & branding lawyer Ashlee Froese and Desi drag queen Manghoe Lassi, where they discussed the nitty gritties of their respective brands, and answered audience questions on how to survive the glamour industry as a business.

Award-winning celebrity & fame expert, author, media personality Dr. Samita Nandy delivered a thought-provoking and poignant keynote speech titled “Glamour & Celebrity Activism”, brought to you by the Centre For Media & Celebrity Studies.

Finishing up the program was Part 2 of ANOKHI Magazine’s interactive “What’s Hot This Season?” segment, where Hina P. Ansari was joined by ANOKHI’s men’s fashion expert, Harjas Singh for the presentation.

Our sponsored raffles totaled a whopping 14 giveaways, with a total value of over $3,500 which our attendees got to win.
