Jaw-Dropping Hotels From Around The World

Aug 03, 2015

Hotels are designed to be a retreat away from your busy life. Here are a few that will make you feel like you've stepped into a completely different world.

1. Gwinganna Health Retreat, Australia

The Gwinganna Health Retreat is the go-to spot to catch up on rest and relax. The stylish retreat is certified in ecotourism. They help you unwind and focus on your wellness and build resilience to help you cope with the modern world in a more natural way. All of this is achieved with visits to the organic living spa, relaxation and movement, organic cuisine and vital wellness workshops, all in a low technology environment. Tucked away in the scenic valley off Queensland's Gold Coast, this retreat truly helps you turn off the everyday and absorb nature around you.

2. The Manta, Tanzania

The Manta Resort on Pemba Island offers the perfect blend of wildlife, relaxation, culture and nature. With a focus on getting you in touch with the wilder side of nature, at The Manta, you can learn to dive and go on underwater excursions, head out into the safari or book a night in the very unique underwater room. Stay in one of the villas or garden view rooms that are decorated with the surroundings in mind and enjoy a bite to eat at the restaurant overlooking the sandy white beaches.

3. La Mamounia, Morocco

You will be in awe as soon as you step foot on the grounds of this breathtaking hotel in Marrakech. La Mamounia is wonderfully decorated and there are ornate touches throughout the hotel. Almost 100 years old, the legendary hotel looks like a palace and backs into a lush garden with a backdrop of beautiful mountains. The rooms are richly decorated with touches of leather, silver stud patterning, marble, gold, lush materials, beautiful tiled floors, intricate pillars and arched doorways. Be sure to book enough time at this hotel to absorb every inch of beauty, inside and out.

4. Tribal Hotel, Nicaragua

The Tribal Hotel in Nicaragua is a hidden gem tucked away in the city of Granada. With an old school facade, the simple front of the hotel gives no clues to the beauty found behind its doors. The hotel is in the heart of the city and boasts rooms and suites that were furnished by locals. Furniture and tiling was designed by the co-owners, Jean-Marc Houmard and Yvan Cussigh and created by local artisans. The decadently-styled boutique hotel gives visitors a taste of the local culture and charm. Situated close to historic sites and fantastic restaurants, this hotel is a tropical oasis and the perfect little getaway.
